2013 Bucks and BBQ Judges

Thank you for your interest in being a judge at the third annual “TTHA’s Bucks and BBQ” State Championship BBQ Cook-Off and Food Drive taking place March 9, 2013 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio. BBQ Teams will arrive Friday and start cooking late Friday night. On Saturday, each category has a specific “Turn-In Time” to be eligible for the competition. Judging will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2013 starting around 9:00am and going on until 4:00pm.

Judges must be in the Judging Room at the National Shooting Complex 30 minutes prior to each Turn-In Time. The Judges Room is located on the map in the area marked as "Turn In Table." At that time, judges will receive additional instruction as well as sign up for a maximum of 1 or 2 categories. We will do our best to provide you with the opportunity to judge the category/meat of your preference, but we cannot guarantee anything. We recommend that you do not sign up for two consecutive categories (i.e.: Ribs and Brisket or Chicken and Ribs).

All judges must be 18 years of age or older. If you have any food allergies, you should not be a judge. Signing up to be a judge does not guarantee you a position as a judge. Any person may be removed from judging responsibilities by Official TTHA staff.
Once you are signed up for a specific category, please be at the Judges Room at least 30 minutes prior to each Turn-In Time. Those times are listed below.

Turn-In Times
Beans - 9:30 a.m.
Wild Game / Open - 11:00 a.m.
2 Chicken Halves - 12:30 p.m.
Pork Spare Ribs - 2:00 p.m.
Beef Brisket - 3:30 p.m.

The National Shooting Complex is located at 5931 Roft Road, off of Culebra Rd (FM 471) and outside Loop 1604, on the North West side of San Antonio. We hope to see you at the event!

Open to the public and FREE to attend, but please bring a non-perishable food item for the San Antonio Food Bank.

Attractions include TPWD’s “Wall of Shame” and TSRA’s Shooting Gallery.

Take part in the National Shooting Complex’s open shoot on Saturday (range fees apply.)
